David Hobbs, Obion Capital Management


David Hobbs is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Obion Capital, a long biased public equity investment firm based in Miami, Florida. Obion invests in public equities across the consumer, industrial, and real estate sectors. The firm’s framework is focused on identifying and investing in competitively advantaged businesses that add meaningful value to customers, with the firm intending to hold investments for 3-5 years or more. Prior to Obion, David was a partner at D1 Capital, leading the firm’s investments across public and private markets in the consumer, industrial, and real estate sectors. Prior to D1, David was a partner at Tiger Eye Capital, a long / short equity fund seeded by Tiger Management. David began his career at Blackstone in the Real Estate private equity business, and then at Centerbridge, working across the credit hedge fund and private equity funds. He earned a B.A from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. David grew up in Mississippi and currently lives in Miami with his wife and two young children. 

Mike Hyatt, Hudson Way Capital Management


Mike Hyatt is the Founder and Portfolio Manager at Hudson Way Capital Management, LLC. Prior to founding Hudson Way in 2014, Mr. Hyatt spent four years at Oak Hill Investment Management (now Jasper Ridge Partners) in Menlo Park, CA. At Oak Hill, he was a member of the Investment Committee and Public Markets team where he designed and managed the firm’s direct public equity effort. Prior to Oak Hill, Mr. Hyatt was an original analyst at Highside Capital Management, a $4B long/short equity fund based in Dallas, TX. Mr. Hyatt began his career as an analyst in Morgan Stanley’s Healthcare Investment Banking group. Mr. Hyatt earned a B.A. (with distinction) in Economics and Political Science from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and an MBA from The Stanford Graduate School of Business. 


Dan Rupp, Parkway Capital


Dan is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Parkway Capital Limited, a long-only investment manager investing in public equities across Asia. Launching December 1st, Parkway Capital Fund will focus on small & mid cap value stocks. As a portfolio, Parkway's primary objective is to have faster earnings growth, better quality metrics (ROAs, ROEs, less debt, steadier margins, etc) and cheaper valuations than the general market. Prior to Parkway, Dan spent 17 years at Overlook Investments, a $6B long-only fund also based in Hong Kong. At Overlook Mr. Rupp was Research Director and worked closely with the Chief Investment Officer in managing the portfolio. Dan also spent two years with Peace Corps Cameroon, teaching high school math, and 3 years in Hokkaido, Japan. Mr. Rupp earned a B.A. (Chemistry & Spanish) from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MBA from Yale School of Management, and is a CFA charterholder. Dan grew up in Boone, NC, is the proud father of two boys, and is very fond of dividends and buybacks. 


Jessie Magee, CFA, COR3 Investment Partners


Jessie Magee is a Founder of COR3 Investment Partners, an independent, employee-owned investment management firm headquartered in Atlanta, GA. He is both the architect of the firm’s multi-faceted fundamental investment process and Portfolio Manager of the COR3 Equity Strategy, a long-only, North American, small to mid-cap portfolio. With a 10-15 position strategy, COR3 is disciplined and exacting with respect to investment criteria. Two internally developed decision support tools refine the starting universe, while rigorous research further surfaces fundamental business opportunity for potential holdings. Prior to founding COR3 in 2022, Mr. Magee spent 16 years with EARNEST Partners, a $40B investment management firm, where he was an Equity Partner, Portfolio Manager and Director of Research. He graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Southern University and holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan as well as an MBA from Emory University. He began his career in Research & Vehicle Technology at Ford Motor Company. Later, he worked in Corporate Finance at Intel Corporation, where he developed strategies to proliferate the usage of reverse internet auctions for semi-conductor materials procurement. Jessie is a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard having spent eight years as a Combat Engineer.

Rael Gorelick, Biltmore Family Office


Rael oversees the firm's investment strategy, investment due diligence, and sourcing, and works closely with our portfolio managers in the construction and allocations of our families' portfolios. Rael and his team lead the continuing development and implementation of Biltmore’s proprietary due diligence and investment research process. Prior to joining Biltmore Family Office, Rael was a co-founder of Gorelick Brothers Capital, a firm with a strong industry reputation for due diligence and thematic investing and a winner of multiple industry awards for both their hedge fund and real estate efforts. Since 2005, Rael has led groups of top US family office executives in sourcing investment managers, successfully identifying winning themes at an early stage. Prior to Gorelick Brothers Capital, Rael served in a number of strategic roles for Atlantic Assurance Group and Showtime Networks Inc. He has served on the board of directors of Moishe House, Temple Israel of Charlotte, and the Greater Charlotte Jewish Federation. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Charlotte Latin School. Rael is a 1994 graduate of Northwestern University.



Sam Bowles, New Republic Partners


Sam Bowles is a managing director and a member of the board of directors of New Republic Partners. He also serves as a member of the firm’s executive committee and investment committee. Sam brings extensive expertise and experience in the areas of private equity, investment management, capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions.


His prior experience includes roles as a managing director of Threadridge Investment Partners, a fully integrated single family office and holding company, and as a principal at Carousel Capital where he sourced and executed private equity transactions and monitored portfolio companies. Sam also worked at Morgan Stanley in the mergers & acquisitions group in New York.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School.


Sam currently serves on the boards of the UNC Healthcare System where he serves as chairman of the finance committee, the Greater Charlotte Cultural Trust, the Endowment for the Mint Museum where he serves as chairman, the endowment of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church where he serves as chairman of the investment committee, and the Kenan-Flagler Business School. 

Nichole Wagner, East Rock Capital


Nichole Wagner is a Partner at East Rock Capital and joined the firm in 2013. She was previously Director of Investments at SF Capital Group, a single family office, where she oversaw manager selection, as well as diligence efforts on co-investment and direct opportunities. Earlier, she worked at the investment consulting firm Veritable. Nichole graduated from Penn State with a BS in Finance.

Jay Ripley is the Head of Investments and Deputy Managing Partner at Global Endowment Management (GEM). In this role, he leads an integrated investment team covering public, private, and impact investing. Prior to joining GEM in 2014, he spent six years at Stone Point Capital, a leading private equity firm. He received a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Georgia.
